TEDxYouth@DunLaoghaire – Morning Session
Our 2021 young speakers have lived through a global pandemic. They’ve had time to think about what it means to be a teenager in a time when the world stopped. Everything. Their schooling. Their family lives turned upside down. They learnt how to be resilient. They have learnt what matters most. And most important of all, in finding their voices, they will share their innermost thoughts with us. They’ve worked collaboratively, supported one another and acquired new communication skills. As importantly, in sharing their stories with us, we’ll all gain insights into how they see the world and what it means to be a teenager living through and emerging from a global pandemic. Our speakers this year come from counties Dublin, Laoise and Offaly and their talks will, like each of them, will resonate with teenagers across the globe.
This year 6 young speakers from Dublin, Offaly and Laoise have come together, participated in collaborative coaching and engaged with 5 past young speakers as part of our Young ChangeMakers Peer Mentoring program, where they learn new skills and the art of constructive feedback and teamwork. Having had their opportunity to speak, now they play it forward as volunteers!
